Live News

live news

In television, live news is a broadcasting service that provides a live video stream of a television news program. It differs from the standard television broadcast of news by the fact that it is provided as a streaming video, rather than on over-the-air or cable television channels, and can be accessed on smart television platforms, on websites designed to play streaming video (e.g. YouTube), or on digital media players such as Roku devices.

Various television networks and news outlets provide online streams of live news broadcasts for most or all of the day. ABC News, for example, has a streaming news service called ABC News Live that is available through its website, and also at its official channel on YouTube. CCTV of China has a English-language livestream of world news that can be seen at its website, and at its official channel on YouTube.

In the United States, Fox has a local streaming news service called News Now from Fox that gained a large following during the COVID-19 pandemic by carrying live coverage of public events without any commercial interruptions. This service later merged with KSAZ-TV in Arizona and rebranded as the national product News Now from Fox, which rebranded again to its current name of LiveNOW from Fox in 2020.
